Dear Parkcrest Family,
As we continue to watch the devastation caused by the recent fires in Southern California, we are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from our congregation. Your compassion and generosity make a difference in the lives of those affected by this disaster, and we are grateful for each of you.
On Sunday, Pastor Eric explained that we would partner with Christ Church of Sierra Madre to support 12 families who had lost everything in the fires. Since Sunday, we have also partnered with Victory Bible Church, and more than 24 families have been affected between the two churches. To continue our efforts in supporting those in need, we wanted to share three ways you can contribute to the disaster relief efforts:
1. Donate New or Like-New Items:
We are thrilled at the abundance of clothing, shoes, and toys donated to the families at Christ Church. As a result, we have an updated list of current items needed from the families.
• New or Like-new Air Mattresses
• New or Like-new High-Quality Kitchenware (ex: microwaves, toasters, ovens, air fryers, food processors, slow cookers, rice cookers)
• New or Like-new Kitchen Utensils (spatula, ladles, tongs, etc.)
• New Toiletries
• New Blankets & Towels
• Gift Cards (furniture store, general goods store, kitchenware, household items)
Donations can be dropped off at the Parkcrest Offices (3936 Woodruff Ave., Long Beach, 90808) Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.
2. Sign Up to Serve:
We need volunteers to help receive and sort donations here at Parkcrest. If you are interested in serving over the next couple of weeks, click the sign-up link below. We will be in touch with you as soon as we are able to provide more information or the next steps on how you can continue to help.
3. Donate to the Disaster Relief Fund:
If you cannot donate items or volunteer your time, another impactful way you can help is by contributing financially. Parkcrest will send a check to Christ Church, which will be used to assist families in need directly. You can donate securely online by clicking the link below:
Thank you again for your overwhelming support. We are so grateful for the opportunity to serve our neighbors in this time of crisis. Please continue to join us in praying for Christ Church of Sierra Madre, our government officials, firefighters, first responders, and police officers.
